Dr. Butts grew up in Michigan in a veterinary family. It was only natural to follow and he pursued a veterinary degree from Michigan State University. After graduating in 2000, he began working as a mixed animal doctor in Fowlerville, Michigan.
In 2004, Dr. Butts began focusing on small animal general medicine. In 2026, he fulfilled a long-term goal to move to the Carolinas and joined us in Aiken.
The bond that people have with their cats and dogs is inspiring and he loves to be a part of that in practice.
His favorite way to contribute to animal health is with orthopedic surgeries, particularly the knees.
When he is not at work, you might find Dr. Butts hanging out with his wife and 2 boys at the beach or on the trails, horse camping.
